Research on Measurement Technology for Thermal Properties of Advanced Thin Films and Fibers |
| Thermal expansion coefficients and elastic constants of thin films and fibers are fairly obtained though few data have been measured due to their small size. One end of a specimen is fixed and another is held at a carriage on three ceramic balls. Thermal expansion of the specimen is measured using an optical heterodyne interferometer with two mirrors on the holders. Measurements for high-strength organic fibers, amorphous metal foils, diamond films and so forth are being carried out. |
